E-coating is perfect for this application because it is a “wet” process where metal parts are immersed in a bath of paint and epoxy. An electric current is applied to attract the particles to the metal, after which the part is cured in an oven.
By varying the current applied, the part coating thickness can be controlled with amazing precision.

The thin, precision coatings available from e-coating provide both excellent protection and superior heat transfer. You get both the corrosion resistance you need for extended coil life and the heat transfer efficiency necessary for coils to function well in everyday operation.
e-coating delivers a smooth, consistent, durable coating that penetrates deep into all cavities and covers every exposed surface of the heat exchanger, including fin edges— without creating a bridge to adjacent fins.
The benefits of electrocoating (E-coating) include superior corrosion resistance, controllable, uniform film coverage, and the ability to coat complex parts evenly. An added advantage of the E-coat process is its high efficiency. As many parts as can be racked can be coated at once.
