Nominated for – Community Employers of the Year 2021

To Great Dane Powder Coating,

I wanted to let you know that I have nominated Great Dane Powder Coating Inc. for Community Employers of the Year 2021.  It is a PAR (Pennsylvania Advocates and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities) nomination and I was very happy to do so.  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve.  — Todd Sheppard

This is the brief write-up I submitted for the nomination:

Due to the COVID-19 mandates and restrictions of 2021, many places in our community are unable to provide work for the clients we serve at BNI Bedford. However, Great Dane Powder Coating Inc. (located in Loyalhanna PA) allows the clients of BNI Bedford to work packaging brackets in these difficult times.  In doing so, their selfless attitude and giving beyond what has become expected has shown their level of integrity.  Even in what many call a “normal” year Great Dane Inc. would have shined brightly.

Whenever Great Dane Inc. receives an order for a product, they send that product to BNI Bedford for compilation and packaging for shipment.  Over the past several months BNI Bedford has processed thousands of their product..  Passing the quality control of the clients here at BNI Bedford is a tribute to their outstanding product quality.  Their determination to allow the clients here to work has given many individuals the chance to succeed toward personal goals of serving others in the community.  Many others have simply built gratitude for being able to serve in these ever- changing times of COVID-19.

Facing obstacles has become the norm in the Country during these times and in doing so with an attitude of excellence and quality of service is the norm for Great Dane Inc. So many fluid obstacles are faced daily by Great Dane for the allowance of the clients a BNI to complete work.  Many times, the director of Great Dane Inc. has come to Bedford BNI to deliver materials.  It is that type of selfless leadership that exemplifies the quality and excellence of Great Dane Inc.
